Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account details — your name, email address and password (stored by our sign-in provider, never readable by us), and optionally a phone number and profile photo.
• Pickleball profile — your city, home club, skill level, and, if you connect it, your DUPR ID and rating.
• Play and results — the Rec sessions, ladders, leagues and events you join, your games and scores, and the ratings, standings and points calculated from them.
• Messages and posts — direct messages, crew chat, partner posts and community events you write, and any reports you file.
• Payments — when you pay an event entry or club dues, Stripe processes the payment. We keep a Stripe customer ID and what was bought; we never see or store your card number.
• Device and notifications — if you turn on notifications, a push token for that device.
• Usage — pages you open and actions like “score submitted”, used to fix problems and improve the product, plus technical logs (IP address, browser or app version, errors) used for security and rate limiting. The website also uses Google Analytics; the RYVL app does not.

How we use it

• To run your account and the things you sign up for: matching, scheduling, scoring, standings, ratings and rankings.
• To send the emails and notifications you ask for — game reminders, results, messages — which you can turn off in Settings.
• To take payments for events and club dues.
• To keep the community safe: reviewing reports, removing content that breaks our Terms, and preventing abuse.
• To understand how the product is used and make it better.

What other people can see

Pickleball is played in public, and so are results. Your name, city, level, rating and game results appear on boards, rankings and the profiles of the people you played, according to your profile visibility setting (Public, Members only or Hidden), which you can change in Settings. Messages are seen only by the people in that conversation, and by staff when a message is reported.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that run the product for us, each using your data only to provide their service:

• Supabase (database and sign-in) and Vercel (hosting).
• Stripe (payments) and Postmark (email).
• Apple and Google push notification services (to deliver notifications).
• DUPR — only if you connect your DUPR account, and only to verify your rating and submit the results you play.
• Google Analytics on the website (not in the app).

Club and event organizers see what they need to run their club or event (for example, their roster and results). We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect someone’s safety.

Your choices: download, change or delete

• Download your record any time: Me → Settings → Download your record (CSV or JSON).
• Change your profile, visibility and notifications in Me → Settings.
• Delete your account in the app or on the website: Me → Settings → Delete account. This removes your sign-in, name, email, phone, photo, DUPR link, push devices and any subscription right away. Game results stay in other players’ records, shown as “Deleted player” with nothing that identifies you, because their standings and ratings depend on them. Backups that contain deleted data are overwritten within 30 days.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information while your account is open. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. Technical logs are kept for up to 90 days.

Children

RYVL Pickleball is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we’ll delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to the staff who need it, and passwords are never stored in a form we can read. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong that affects you, we’ll tell you.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Questions or requests: info@ryvlpickleball.com.
